Expressive arts therapy in the wild is offered outdoors in nature with an invitation to wander at an unhurried pace while experiencing Mother Earths nurturance, groundedness and calm. 

We may find ourselves perching on  a rock, a park bench or laying on a rug on the grass. You lead the session with how your body would like to be within the spaciousness of nature.

There will be an invitation to cultivate wonder. Slow looking, paying attention to our surroundings with all our senses:

  • Feeling textures, temperatures, maybe the breeze or sunshine, or flow of water.
  • Observing colour, movement, patterns and the way nature interacts with us.
  • Breathing to invite the subtle scents of the woods, ocean, earth and sky.
  • Listening to sounds, rhythms and our selves. Dialoguing together. Or just being fully present for yourself.

We may find nature offer door ways to self expression: twining vines or flower stems, rock balancing, art journaling, mandala making, water colouring, movement or dance , poetry, macro photography or nature sculptures (for example).
