Rochelle Melville

Meet Rochelle

Hello I’m Rochelle a Masters qualified expressive arts therapist and intentional creative who believes coffee should be held, sipped slowly and experienced, preferably outdoors with a view, a fountain pen and journal.

I bring my lived experiences of working in the wellbeing space, teaching creativity, art making and crafting for over 22 years alongside my formal qualifications:

  • Masters  - Therapeutic Arts Practice (MIECAT)
  • Registration with the peak professional arts therapists body ANZACATA
  • Advanced Diploma – Transpersonal Art Therapy (IKON)
  • Advanced Diploma – Naturopathy
  • Advanced Diploma – Hern]bal Medicine
  • 2 of 4 years Bachelor of Social Work

I am committed to cultivating a collaborative therapeutic relationship with each person I work alongside. I am a steadfast believer that every individual has the innate capacity for autonomy, true self expression and a well lived wild and precious life.

My practice experience is with women, adolescents and children, as individuals as well as within therapeutic focus groups. My special interest areas are:

  • Transition phases – moments at crossroads, seasons of stuckness, restlessness. Loss or separation often takes us here.
  • Liminality – when you are not who you were and and you are who you are becoming, and you are also here and there. It’s the middle space between two spaces. A sense of straddling both and none.
  • Spiritual bullying and spiritual trauma. Deconstruction of systems of belief.
  • Working within flexi and alternative school systems.

I am a writer and poet. I have been published in health and lifestyle books, blogs and magazines. I am an experienced speaker on creativity, self expression and re-wilding. When I am not art journaling, reading, silversmithing or indoor rock climbing, I’m outdoors. I wander and wonder and run along the beach. I am passionate about every individual discovering their own creative genius and releasing it as a rebellion against conformity and a world that is noisy and chaotic, intent on pressing us into a cookie cutter.
